Harlequin is a well renowned name in the cannabis community, especially among medicinal marijuana users. It was the very first high-CBD strain to be discovered in America and is commonly found to have a 5:2 CBD:THC ratio. With THC content averaging around 6% and CBD testing as high as 14%, it has been hailed as a miracle plant by patients suffering from epilepsy, muscle spasms, and other conditions that are highly responsive to CBD treatment. Created by Mr. Green of the House of David Collective, it has a genetic composition that is 75% sativa and 25% indica. Harlequin's lineage is as old school as it gets, being a descendant of 4 classic landrace strains (3 sativas and an indica): Colombian Gold which emerged out of the Santa Marta mountains of Colombia, Thai which is native to Thailand and Laos, Swiss Sativa tracked to the regions of Switzerland, and a Nepalese Indica landrace from the famed Mustang District.

Due to the low level of THC, users can count on staying clear-headed and alert, with no reduction in focus or productivity. Being minimally psychoactive, Harlequin users remain fully present and attentive, making it a great choice for doing school work, physical activity, or staying attuned in social gatherings. In addition, Harlequin has all the mood-enhancing effects expected of a sativa strain, but its high CBD content will counteract any potential paranoia. With excellent pain-reducing qualities (it is regarded as an excellent analgesic), Harlequin allows its user to reach a state of total calm and relaxation without undesirable sedation or drowsiness. Even when used late at night, one can expect to wake up feeling completely fresh, with no "pot-hangover" to overcome. However, negative effects such as cotton mouth, dry eyes, mild nausea and headaches in the rarest of cases could be present.

When grown indoors, Harlequin produces a medium yield and flowers in 60 to 70 days. It is important to note that an extended flowering time can diminish the effectiveness of this strain, as CBD tends to degrades faster than THC. Harlequin is named for its distinctive appearance, characterized by brightly colored hairs that range from orange to dark red. The nugs are dense, packed with trichomes and have a musky, earthy scent with a sweet, tropical, and mango-like essence.
