Chocolope

Chocolope, which was created and originally named "D-Line" by DNA Genetics is nearly a pure sativa strain. It is a cross between Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze that ranges in THC potency from 17% to 22% and carries a very complex terpene profile.

It is quite rare to encounter a cannabis plant with chocolate taste and it has been speculated that the landrace parent may have obtained this flavor through naturally-occurring mineral transfers from soil that was used to also grow coffee. Alternatively, terpene production may also be responsible for the flavor, as Chocolope retains its unusual taste even when grown outside of the original habitat.

Chocolope is highly energizing and it’s quick to take effect. It begins with a cerebral buzz that unburdens the mind and gives way to broader thinking. Being uplifting and motivating, Chocolope is great for morning (wake-and-bake) or daytime use and can complement a lot of tasks very well. Its clear-minded and focus-enhancing high is well suited for staying productive and can even assist those suffering from attention deficit disorder. Chocolope can also improve mood, which can be helpful in treating anxiety, stress, and symptoms associated with PTSD. Nighttime use is discouraged as the stimulating nature of Chocolope may be counter-productive to a healthy sleep cycle. On the other hand, the cerebral hyper-activity from over-using this strain may lead to feeling mentally drained, hitting the proverbial wall and wanting sleep.

As for its appearance, Chocolope has beautiful buds that are cylindrical in shape, are long and fluffy, with very sticky dark-green leaves. When cured, the buds smell sweet and earthy, a flavor that seems to intensify once the flower is lit up. The smoke is smooth, with a taste that has a closer resemblance to Cannalope Haze due to its fruity notes. The notes of coffee and cocoa are more noticeable on the exhale.

Chocolope grows very tall, is prone to mold, tends to have an exceptional thirst, and has a painfully long flowering time (a characteristic inherited from Chocolate Thai) of 10+ weeks. However, when completed, Chocolope may yield as much as or 2 ounces per square foot of plant.
