Big Bud

Big Bud has a long, rich history going back to the late 70s and early 80s, when it was first developed. Originating somewhere in America, this 85% indica was transported to the Netherlands to survive the war on drugs initiated by president Richard Nixon, where it was nurtured, genetically stabilized, and preserved to this day by the Dutch breeder Sensi Seeds. Aptly named, Big Bud is known and loved by growers for remarkable yields from its massive flowers, and as such it has reclaimed its popularity in the US by the late 80s.
The first Big Bud was created from a cross between the landrace Afghani indica and Skunk #1, resulting in a hybrid that possessed unusual vigor and an unexpectedly plentiful yield. Through the years, Sensi Seeds was able to identify the precise genotype and geographic origin of the exact Afghani cultivar that spawned Big Bud, and re-combine it with the absolute best specimen from the Skunk line. The resulting and current incarnation of Big Bud boasts sweet, fruity flavors with a great improvement in potency. The enormous production remains a central feature of this strain, and the stem-snapping buds require support to grow to full maturity.
With an earthy aroma punctuated by spicy notes, Bug Bud delivers mental tranquility and deep, full body relaxation, true to its indica lineage. With THC potency between 15% - 20%, it is recommended for evening use when its foggy, spacey, and euphoric effects may be fully appreciated. Great for watching movies or listening to music, this lazy high is optimal for sedentary activities and solo enjoyment. Medically speaking, Big Bud can be beneficial for relieving chronic aches and pains, reducing discomforts associated with conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia. The narcotic properties of Big Bud can also help with insomnia, but the price of a good night's sleep may be a groggy and disoriented morning.
In 1989, Big Bud won 1st place for "best indica" at the High Times Cannabis Cup held in Amsterdam.
