Afgoo
Afgoo (sometimes called Afgooey) is an indica that originated from a crossing of 2 potent landrace strains - Afghani and Maui Haze. It has a THC potency that typically exceeds 20% and delivers a heavily sedating effect that inhibits activity and often leads to a sleepy state. Afgoo features dense buds that are small to medium in size and resemble typical indica varieties. Phenotypes come in a variety of shapes that range from spherical to elongated and cylindrical, with tightly-coiled leaves are a bright green with rust-colored accents. The “goo” in Afgoo’s name refers to the abundant resin it produces, which oozes out of a blanket of large and THC rich trichomes.
Afgoo has a rich and earthy flavor, pungent undertones, and a pine taste that's detectible on the exhale. The smoke is smooth and sweet, with effects that hit hard, fast, and can be felt throughout the entire body immediately. Right after a toke, a narcotic-like state of relaxation makes limbs feel heavy and movement stops being effortless. A sense of euphoria takes over, a feeling that is best experienced in a sedentary state, where the user will likely remain for some time to come. If consumed late at night, Afgoo will surely be followed by deep and restful sleep, although some people may find themselves a bit slower the following morning.
Afgoo is often used to numb different types of pain and it can effectively mask stress, anxiety and symptoms of PTSD. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties and offer relief from headaches, nausea, and severe insomnia.
An adept strain that can thrive in a variety of conditions, Afgoo can be cultivated indoors or outdoors. When grown outside, a semi-humid climate with daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s would facilitate the greatest yield. Short and bushy, the landrace genes from which Afgoo is derived make it a resilient specimen that is relatively easy to grow.
