Tangerine Dream is a very popular, 70% indica-domiant hybrid that was originally bred by Amsterdam-based Barney’s Farm. The plant is the offspring of G13, Afghan, and Neville’s A5 Haze. It won 1st place overall at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2010, which has cemented it’s staying power on dispensary shelves.

Tangerine Dream gives a long lasting, heavy stone without draining the user of energy, enabling a relaxed and euphoric state without couchlock or the loss of one’s ability to remain active. It produces a very cerebral buzz, which is spacey yet upbeat and generally uplifting. For medical patients, Tangerine Dream is mainly used to treat pain, mood disorders and combat depression. However, be advised that high THC content calls for dosing with caution. Lab tests of Tangerine Dream revealed THC levels of 25%, making it one hard-hitting strain.

As its name implies, users will enjoy a sweet, citrus-tasting body with a slight tanginess on the exhale. Tangerine Dream can be cultivated indoors or out and grows to be fairly expansive. At its tallest, which can reach about 40 inches, the plant requires support, as the colas grow large and heavy especially in the final weeks, flecked with red and orange and richly coated with trichomes. This plant also boasts an impressive yield after about 65 days.
