NYC Diesel

NYC Diesel (first called Soma Sour Diesel) is a 60% sativa dominant hybrid bred by Soma Seeds. First grown from a couple seeds that were obtained in New York in the mid-90s, NYC Diesel has achieved world-wide notoriety and is a 10 time cup winner. It is said that the seeds that were initially planted had been a product of a cross between 2 famed landraces - Mexican Sativa and Afghani. It took Soma some a number of years to stabilize the genetics that descended from those early plants, but by '99 the strain was ready for the commercial market. In 2001, after the events of September 11th, Soma renamed NYC Diesel in homage and honor of his home town and the tragedy that had just struck there.

NYC Diesel is commonly used as a wake and bake strain, giving users a morning jolt to jump-start their day with energy that can last for hours. It is of course a great choice for any time of day, so long as the user understands that it will be an "elevating" experience consistent with sativa characteristics. Consistently, NYC Diesel delivers a powerful and stimulating high that energizes the mind with creative energy and insight.
