On November 8, 2016 California voters approved Proposition 64, also known as the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA), which legalized possession and use of up to one ounce of cannabis. The new law also permits cultivation of plants for pursonal use with a limit of 6 plants per residence. Use of cannabis in California is restricted to adults 21 years or older.
