About Terpinolene

Terpinolene is characterized by a fresh, piney, floral, herbal, and occasionally citrusy aroma and flavor. It is one of the top 5 most abundant terpenes and can be found in a variety of other pleasantly fragrant plants, including nutmeg, tea tree, conifers, apples, cumin, and lilacs. Terpinolene is most frequently present in sativa-dominant strains, but tends to be somewhat elusive in cannabis. Most strains don’t have very much Terpinolene at all, and those that do tend to have low quantities.

Terpinolene’s Effects & Medical Benefits

Terpinolene is a powerful antioxidant with antibacterial, antifungal and cancer-fighting benefits. Despite being associated with sativas, it has been found to be a central nervous system depressant, used to induce drowsiness or sleep. It is also an effective insect repellent.
